31 Jan 2025 Police Commissioner Jessica S. Tisch’s 2025 State of the NYPD
Police Commissioner Jessica S. Tisch delivered her State of the NYPD address hosted by the New York City Police Foundation at Cipriani 42nd Street on Thursday, January 30. Hundreds of NYCPF supporters and leaders from across the city and the state attended, including Mayor Eric Adams and Governor Kathy Hochul, to hear directly from the Commissioner regarding her vision for the NYPD and her expectations for the year ahead. We are grateful to Dr. Philip O. Ozuah, President & CEO of Montefiore Einstein and Chairman of the New York City Police Foundation Board of Trustees, for generously sponsoring the event.
Throughout her remarks, Commissioner Tisch highlighted her efforts to conduct a full review of every bureau, division and unit in the NYPD; announced the expansion of the NYPD’s Crisis Intervention Training and the planned overhaul of the NYPD’s approach to quality of life enforcement; and she addressed complicated issues such as tackling recidivism and proposed discovery law changes, all with the hope of improving the lives of everyday New Yorkers, restoring order to the city, and enhancing public safety and public trust, throughout the city.
We fully support Commissioner Tisch’s plans and look forward to Building A Safer City, Together.
