On November 25, 2024, Jessica S. Tisch was appointed the 48th police commissioner of the City of New York by Mayor Eric Adams. Immediately prior, she had served as the commissioner of the New York City Department of Sanitation, a post she held since April 2022. The New York City Police Foundation welcomes Commissioner Tisch and we look forward to our continued work and #BuildingASaferCityTogether.
